3G Mobile Gaming

My job requires 80% travel, so to get my MP fix on the road I use an ATT USBConnect 881 card. Generally my experience has been passable (except for in NYC). In most markets I get a 1.5 to 1.9 meg connection, the main issue is latency. Typically I am looking at a 200ms ping (compared to 19ms on my cable modem at home). For some games it’s no big deal for others it’s a deal breaker.

I am curious to learn what other people experiences have been gaming on a 3G connection. Is Verizons or Sprints latency times any better. Is anyone on 4g connection yet?
